Astronomy news sources, these days, state in a matter-of-fact manner that the centers of galaxies harbor supermassive black holes, which emit vast quantities of electromagnetic energy and high-speed plasma jets that power the entire galaxy. This is the reason why, supermassive black holes are regarded as the “central engines” of galaxies.
My discussion with Heather Ensworth about the central black hole of our galaxy, which I believe is not a black hole at all, but the "Galactic Consciousness" or "Supreme Creative Spirit" described in many wisdom traditions.
It is known that the centers of galaxies emit vast quantities of electromagnetic energy and high-speed plasma jets that power the entire galaxy. Astronomers believe this is due to a supermassive black hole at the Galactic Center, but the observational data shows that the cores of galaxies do not behave at all in the manner expected of the black holes that came out of Einstein's equations. Instead they correspond very closely to the concept of a central creative and organizing consciousness, that our ancestors spoke of.
